Miscellaneous letters and papers, 1780-1849.

Collection includes: A letter to Canova regarding a possible visit to the sculptor's studio, and other artistic matters (1803 March 30); miscellaneous letters relating to Napoleonic public sculpture, his "Dictionnaire d'architecture" (in "L'Encyclopedie par ordre de matieres") and the sale of paintings and sculpture; a contract (1823) for his "De l'imitation dans les beaux arts; and an undated fragment of a manuscript on the arts under Colbert containing a short biography of Pierre Mignard. With memorial tributes to Quatremere de Quincy as published in the Journal des debats, 1850 April.
