Catalogue des tableaux du roy, 1710 - 1725?

The catalogue raisonné comprises 382 pages written in calligraphic hand. It is divided into three parts: 1. Catalogue des tableaux du roy qui ont été gravéz; 2. Catalogue des tableaux bons à graver; 3. Catalogue des tableaux qui n'ont pas été gravéz. Part 1 lists 79 engraved paintings by 26 artists; part 2 has 90 works by 25 artists which may be engraved; and part 3 has 1230 works by 183 artists with no engravings. In each section the entries are grouped under artists' name, seemingly in no established order. They all start with Raphael, followed by well-known foreign and French painters, gradually becoming a random mixture of masters and minor artists from various schools. Each entry includes the subject, the size and sometimes the material of the panel.
