Manuscripts, in poor condition, of published and some possibly unpublished work. Pages have been pasted-up, and there are corrections and changes in the texts of these notes, sketches, fragments and full-length pieces. He gives an account of Western travels, speculates on his upcoming tour of England and muses on new subjects for lectures. Includes three letters received, one offering a position [with the Toledo (Ohio) Commercial], 1853, and one from his editor, G.W. Carlton, 1864. With two broadsides advertising his lectures, ca. 1862.
