Abstract

Two letters and a postmarked envelope written by Captain Kellogg of the 6th Wisconsin Infantry from inside Confederate military prisons in Georgia and South Carolina to Governor Lewis of Wisconsin informing him that, contrary to rumor, he had not been killed in action and asking for a promotion.
