Information on Haraszthy, a Hungarian immigrant who founded Sauk City, Wisconsin, about 1841, did extensive travelling in the U.S., moved to California in 1849, and led in the establishment of vinyards there and later in Nicaragua. Included are biographical notes, 1879; photostat copies of an 1887 letter, an 1886 family history, and notes, 1846-1853, providing biographical information; and translated and summarized portions of Haraszthy's Travels in North America, published originally in Hungarian in 1844.
