Papers of a cousin of Cyrus Hall McCormick who moved from Virginia to Missouri in 1840. Correspondence consists of early letters from relatives in Augusta and Montgomery counties in Virginia making frequent references to residents there, especially the family of his wife who had been Rebecca Crow, and mentioning the sale of their Virginia iron furnace and reapers by Robert McCormick II and by Cyrus Hall McCormick; and later letters relating to William Steele McCormick's agency for the sale of McCormick reapers in Missouri.
