Photocopies of letters, 1864-1866, to and from Private William J. Ketner (serving near Petersburg, Virginia with Company A, 6th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment) and his parents in Grant County, Wisconsin; plus his obituary; minutes of the 1922 reunion of the Iron Brigade Association; and a short history of the 19th Indiana Volunteer Infantry Regiment. Letters include descriptions of his wounding in August, 1864, and subsequent hospitalization, lyrics to "Our cavalry," A soldier's goodbye to his lady love," "The veterans of '64," and a fill-in-the-blanks poem, "Soldier's letter."
