A celebratory volume compiled for Alice E. Smith on the occasion of her retirement as Director of Research at the State Historical Society of Wisconsin, May 1965. In addition to the letters written by friends, admirers, and colleagues, there is a biographical article (1988) and a toast to Smith (1987) written by Jane Hartley, and 1991 correspondence relating to the Society's acquisition of the volume.
