Abstract

Typed transcription of a letter written by American Louis Jacobs, an elementary school teacher in the Philippines who was held prisoner by the Japanese during World War II, to friends in Oshkosh, Wis. The March 1945 letter describes living conditions in and the liberation of Los Banos prison camp. Also included is a memoir by Jacobs describing Christmases in the Philippines in 1927, 1940, 1941, and 1944.
