Records of the Marion R. Brown Legal Defense Fund, established in 1974 when Brown, a University of Wisconsin professor who had been critical of the Chilean Military Junta while directing the University of Wisconsin Land Tenure office in Santiago, Chile, was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury for conspiring to violate federal narcotics laws. He was acquitted of all charges in 1975. Included are a chronology of the case, financial records, letters soliciting donations and donors' letters of support, and newspaper clippings, collected by Lloyd Bostian, trustee of the fund.
