Papers, 1923-1966.

Collected published and unpublished works of Henry H. Bakken, professor of agricultural economics at the University of Wisconsin from 1924 to 1966. As a professor and a scholar, Bakken advocated strongly for agricultural cooperatives, researched the marketing of potatoes, tobacco, and milk in Wisconsin, and consulted around the world on agricultural marketing, reform of agricultural practices, and cooperatives. The collection consists of published books on agriculture that Bakken wrote or to which he contributed and four independently bound volumes that compile both his unpublished and other published writings. The materials document Bakken's Wisconsin and international scholarly career, in addition to the history of the theory of agricultural marketing and cooperatives, particularly in Wisconsin. The majority of Bakken's published works were published by Mimir Publishers of Madison, Wisconsin.
