Protocollo, 1839-1908.

Protocollo entries may include: protocol number, name of diocese or religious order, postulant, object of business, date the item was consigned to a secretary, date of response (seeking information), date of remission (answer to letter by secretary seeking further information, resolution, rescript, agent, and cost. This series provides a good overview of business conducted and the variety of actors making requests. It is difficult to use these successfully as indice to the Regestum (ID VATV10371-A to VATV10373-A) and the Oratori Privati (ID VATV10391-A), although entries in the Regestum and documents in the Oratori Privati contain protocol numbers. One can go from each fondo to the protocolli, but the protocolli are particularly useless for the Oratori Privati because the Oratori Privati are often lumped together and personal or family names are usually not indicated in the pProtocolli.
