Photocopy of a handwritten diary covering the dates 21 June to 17 October 1865. McKenzie was a missionary for the Mormon Church travelling with G. J. Adams and writes of his trip from Boston to Palestine and his return to New York City. He tells about the weather, his sightseeing activities, and also includes his personal reflections. The purpose of the trip was to "Open or prepare the Way for the Lost Sons and Daughters of Ephraim and Get Ready to Call hom All Gods Ancient Covenant People to their Land of their Fathers, to be dispersed no more forever."
