The Richard O. Cowan collection of material relating to seminaries and institutes contains the LDS church seminaries and institutes annual report from 1972-1973 which contains maps of different states and countries and the number of students enrolled in institutes and seminaries. It also contains a booklet entitled Family Home Evenings 1970-1971, which contains information regarding the Family Home Evening program. Also included is a document entitled the LDS: Student Association which contains reports and guidelines. The last document is a folder with information relating to the Priesthood/hometeacher. Most of the documents have information that is written in braille.

Richard O. Cowan (1934-) was a Stanford graduate who is a member of the BYU Religious Education faculty. Richard O. Cowan was born in January 1934 and is originally from Los Angeles, California.
