He was dissatisfied with original Birds in a Village and therefore rewrote parts of it for a new edition. [3] 1919, April 25, Penzance [3 p.].--He will send a photograph of himself. He gives information about a new issuing of his book, Birds in a Village.

W.H. Hudson, author and naturalist, was born in Argentina of American parents. While growing up in Argentina, he developed a passion for the wildlife of the Pampas, particularly its birds. He eventually became disillusioned by the effect on the Pampas's ecosystem caused by large-scale immigration of bird-eating Italians.
