Climatological reports, 1825-1979.

These reports document Kentucky's environmental conditions as monitored from designated observation stations by community volunteers, many of whom were doctors or teachers. Although various reporting forms have been used to record this information, precipitation and general weather conditions are generally included. Conditions such as river levels, temperature, and miscellaneous conditions, including smoke, haze, fog, drizzle, thunderstorms, floating ice, sleet, hail, dust, sandstorms, blowing snow, high winds, and tornadoes are also documented. In addition, the observers often made notations on the flowering of vegetation.
