Typescripts, with some manuscript material, of Buckbee's historical novels, short stories, and sketches, most of which were published in the 1930s, and mostly relating to Gold Rush mining towns and discoveries, particularly in the Mother Lode area. Titles include: Bountiful Valley; San Francisco's light fingered gentry; Old San Francisco; Columbia, the big town; Sketches of Columbia; Old Calaveras; Murrieta raids Old Calaveras; Vasquez rides the highway; Little Casino (written under the pseudonym Luellen Woodford); Lola Montez in El Dorado; and Darkening star. Includes some miscellaneous clippings (some biographical), correspondence, poems, and historical notes, (miscellany dated 1930s-1954) as well as two undated notebooks containing background notes for stories.
