Emma Sansom collection, 1876-1991.

Collection containing photographs, letters, and church minutes. A number of the documents are photocopies. This collection includes photographs of Emma's grave and her husband C. B. and letters to him while arranging their move from Alabama to Texas. Church minutes from their church, Little Mound Baptist Church, Old Calloway, Tex. are also included.

Larry Johnson, of Arlington, Tx., is a direct descendent of C. B. and Emma Sansom Johnson. During the Civil War Emma became a heroine to the Confederate cause by aiding General Nathan Bedford Forrest in northern Alabama during his pursuit of Colonel Abel Streight's forces.
