Letter, 1833 May 22, from Daniel Bell and Son, in London, England, to Fred Heath and Co., in Finsbury, England (?). In the letter is discussed a $3.5 million, 5% loan taken out by the state of Alabama, that state's financial condition, and the fact that individual companies can invest funds in this loan through either the Thomas Wilson and Co. of England, or the Phoenix Bank of N.Y. There is also a comparison of the American Funds, loans made to the states of N.Y, La., Miss., Penn., Ohio, Va., and Ala.
