Diary, 1818 Jan.-May, describing Randolph's participation in the First Seminole Indian War, which occurred in the disputed area of West Fla. The area is now part of Ala., Fla., Ga. and Miss. The Seminoles are of the Creek culture. Much of the military action he recorded occurred at and around the area of Fort Scott, which was a stockade built at the mouth of the Flint River in Ga. in 1816.
