North Georgia Conference Woman's Society of Christian Service records, 1940, 1966.

This collection contains the Charter Membership Forms of the Woman's Society of Christian Service in the North Georgia Conference. Each form contains the name of the local church, the geographical location, the date of the first meeting, the names and addresses of the president, vice-president, corresponding secretary, recording secretary, and treasurer, as well as the number of charter members, and the pastor. The certificates are arranged alphabetically by geographical location. The researcher will find them useful in establishing the names and locations of North Georgia Methodist churches active at the time. The forms will also be useful in establishing the membership of an individual in a particular church and they will give some indication of the residential areas from which a church might have attracted its membership. The forms, moreover, will establish the degree of interest in the Woman's Society of Christian Service as reflected in its member count. The collection also contains materials from the 1966 annual meeting.
