An American violinist, Yehudi Menuhin was engaged in 1947 by Two Continent Pictures to appear and play in a projected moving picture named Delirium and an associated short movie; and later for a series of short films. He suggested changes in the script and performed the Mendelssohn Concerto for Delirium, but the picture apparently was not completed, nor were the short films although 22 reels were recorded and photographed. Violinist Jascha Heifetz was born on Feb. 2, 1901, in Vilnius, Lithuania. He studied violin with Leopold Auer at the St. Petersburg Conservatory. He embarked on an international career in 1912, became an American citizen in 1925, and continued to concertize and record until 1972. He died in Los Angeles on Dec. 10, 1987.
