Circle Celebration collection [graphic], 1978.

The collection documents the festivities of the re-opening of Monument Circle in 1978. The collection includes a program from the day of the Circle Celebration, 43 black-and-white photographs of unidentified dignitaries and citizens attending the ceremony, reprints of newspaper articles about the event, and two posters.

William Herbert Hudnut III was born in 1932 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended Princeton University, Union Theological Seminary, and received his D.D. from Hanover College. He also holds the LL. D. from Wabash College. Hudnut served as pastor of Second Presbyterian Church, Indianapolis, Ind., from 1963 to 1972, and was a congressman from the 11th Indiana district.
