Interview with Charles V. Griffin, Jr. concerning his experiences as founder of Uvalde Producers Feed and Elevator, Inc. in Uvalde, Texas. Griffin discusses his family background, farming and education near Weslaco, Texas, his employment with Texas A&M Extension Service, his experiences during the Depression in College Station, Texas, his assignment as county agricultural agent for Jones and Brown Counties, and his employment with Quaker Oats Company developing feed in 1948. He also talks about the purchase of Uvalde Producers Wool-Mohair in 1952, the wool and mohair business, the split of the operation into feed/grain business and wool/mohair business, the merger with Dolph Briscoe's wool and mohair business, the sale of the wool and mohair business in 1970, and goat raising near Uvalde and the problems with predators.
