Fielding H. Garrison papers, 1910-1957.

Official and personal correspondence, memorandum books, and F.L. Tietsch material. Official correspondence consists chiefly of reference inquiries to the U.S. Army Medical Library where Garrison was assistant librarian. Personal correspondence is divided into original Garrison letters, and typescript and photocopied copies of Garrison letters compiled and collected by F.L. Tietsch. The library material includes letters from Howard A. Kelly, Harvey Cushing, Ludvig Hektoen, Archibald Malloch, Victor Robinson, John Ruhräh and Casey Wood, as well as copies of Garrison's replies. Personal correspondence contains original Garrison letters to George H. Simmons and Morris Fishbein pertaining chiefly to the Index Medicus, and to Maude E. Abbot, W.W. Francis, Arnold C. Klebs, Max Neuberger, Charles Singer, and Clara Garrison. Typescript copies include letters sent to John W. Farlow, Simon Flexner, John F. Fulton, William Halsted, Herman G. Kittridge, Henry L. Mencken, George Sarton, Charles Singer, Frederick P. Reynolds, William H. Welch, and Linsly R. Williams. Teach correspondence with Garrison, Fulton, Mencken, Henry E. Sigerist, and Herman T. Radin is included.
