Between 1994 and 1996, eighteen Jewish men and women were interivewed as part of The Jewish Experience Oral History Project. Their families had emigrated from Europe during the early twentieth century and had settled in the Michiana region of South Bend and Mishawaka. The project was completed under the direction of Roger Birdsell, and sponsored by the Michiana Jewish Historical Society with a grant from the Indiana Historical Society.
