The Department of History Course Materials document graduate and undergraduate history courses offered at the University of California, Irvine from 1965 to 1990. Every regular academic quarter from Fall 1965 (UCI's first quarter of instruction) through Summer 1983 is represented, with sporadic coverage thereafter. Materials include correspondence regarding course planning and class changes, proposals for new courses, course outlines and descriptions, examinations, and syllabi. This collection is arranged by year, academic quarter, and course number, with some miscellaneous general files at the beginning.

The Department of History was one of the four founding departments of the Division of Humanities in the College of Arts, Letters, and Science when the University of California, Irvine opened in 1965.
