Pages missing from microfilm edition of letterbook (CWFL M-51) of Roger Atkinson, merchant, living and trading along Appomattox River near Petersburg, Va. Letterbook contains information on tobacco trade and some other aspects of Virginia economy, including the rate of exchange, grain and hemp, and slavery. Also contains comments on the controversy with England in which Atkinson, though English-born, was a staunch patriot. These pages contain three letters written 1769 August 25 to London merchants Lyonel and Samuel Lynde, Hyndman and Lancaster, and Samuel Gist, all concerning shipments of tobacco and the condition of the tobacco trade.
