Ernest A. Ostro papers, 1960-1986.

The collection contains articles and clippings by Ostro. Some are arranged in binders by institution such as American Metal Market, NC News Service, and Toledo Blade (1960-1973). Included are: manuscripts, book reviews, a copy of "What Your Mayor Does" (1970), and articles written for European News Service, 1969-1972. There are several German-language scrapbooks, articles written by Ostro in French and German, related to the International Savings Bank Institute, and notebooks of articles written by Ostro, 1973-1982. There is an unpublished manuscript of a biography of Albert Speer and the background work done by Ostro, which includes 100 hours of taped interviews, 1976-1978, of Albert Speer in German and some transcripts, a few of which are translated into English. There are also interviews in German of associates of Speer.

Ernest A.Ostro (?-1986) was an author, reporter, and freelance journalist who wrote for the "Bennington Banner", 1962-1963; "Toledo Blade", 1964-1965; and "Washington Star". 1966-1967. He was bureau chief for N.C. News Service (Catholic news agency) and won the Catholic Press Association award for best article in 1972.
