ALS, 1779 April 2, Roxborough, to unknown.

Speaks disparagingly of the "Constitutionalists" and says that they will soon convince "...all Mankind that they have neither sense nor Virtue enough to govern a Hord of Tartars. And as to the Constitution itself 'tis so shattered and battered by its Friends as hardly to be known again by its Makers." The reference is presumably to the continuing Congressional arguments on the Articles of Confederation.

George Clymer (March 16, 1739 – January 23, 1813) was an American politician and Founding Father of the United States, signing both the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.
