Robert Earl Riley was Portland City Commissioner from 1930-1940 and Mayor of Portland from 1940-1948. This collection includes correspondence, reports, minutes, speeches, ad clipping scrapbooks regarding, among other topics: Riley's mayoralty campaigns (1940-1948); emergency relief projects (1934-1935); Housing Authority (1941-1947); League of Oregon Cities (1925-1936); Office of War Information-sponsored trip to Great Britain (1943); Oregon State College Memorial Union (1941-1948); Portland Police Department (1941-1948); Port Development Commission (1945-1948); Al Kader Temple (1922-1948); transportation (1946-1948); Volunteers of America (1934-1948).
