Columbia River Fishing and Trading Company records, 1833-1839.

Records of a fur trading and fishing company organized in 1834 by Nathaniel Jarvis Wyeth. Account books include: journal, 1834 August 4-1835 December 31; ledger, 1834 July 31-1837 July 21, with Wyeth's instructions to Robert Evans, agent in charge; and combination journal-ledger (in box 2), 1834 December 14-1839 April 10, with Joseph Thing's accounts of sale of Fort Hall to the Hudson's Bay Company. Also includes amanuensis copy of letters, agreements, and instructions re: formation and operation of the fur trade and fishing company, including the establishment of Fort Hall (formerly designated Mss 938-1). Principal correspondents in the letter book include Nathanial J. Wyeth, Joseph Thing, James L. Lambert, and the firm of Tucker and Williams.
