Interview with Roy R. Evans concerning his experiences as President of Texas AFL-CIO, and hearing examiner and office manager for the Industrial Accident Board of Texas. Evans discusses his family background, his involvement in the labor movement at Chance-Vought Aircraft in 1948, and his accomplishments as President of Texas AFL-CIO. He comments upon his unsuccessful campaign for re-election, his committee work to improve the Texas Workers' Compensation Law of 1967, prominent Texas politicians, trail lawyers, and labor leaders, and he shares his views on the future of the Texas labor movement, minorities in the labor movement, "Operation Bootstrap" in the Rio Grande Valley and the Mexican alien labor situation, as well as the public school teachers union movement, the failure of schools to teach workers rights classes, and the welfare system. Finally, he speaks about his work for the Industrial Accident Board of Texas.
