Papers of a pioneer merchant of Portland, Oregon, dating mostly from the early 1850s, and consisting of ledgers, journals, cash books, day books, correspondence, and letterpress copybook. Includes records of Holderness & Company, in which Norris was a partner; records of Norris & Company; letters from Winter and Latimer, San Francisco merchants; commissary accounts (1855) of the Oregon Mounted Volunteers, 1st Regiment; and record of witness payments from the U.S. Circuit Court in Multnomah County, 1859-1866.
