Minot family papers, 1658-1933

Minot family papers, 1658-1933, include correspondence, genealogical material, writings, sermons, printed material and newspaper clippings, manuscript drafts of George Richards Minot's works on Massachusetts history, and papers related to the settlements of the estates of Stephen Minot and Sarah Minot. Also included are blueprints for Henry D. Minot's Readville, Mass. house, stock certificates, drawings and watercolor paintings by Mary and Louisa Davis Minot, and a small undated pocket diary kept by Julia Minot while traveling in England, France, and Italy. Correspondents include Stephen Minot, George Richards Minot, George Ricahrds Minot, Jr., John Minot, Julia Minot, Harriet Jackson Minot, Fisher Ames, Ezekial Freeman, Nehemiah Freeman, Constant Freeman, William Taylor, Nathaniel Taylor, and Julia P. Hamner. Part of this collection contains the papers of loyalist and Quebec merchant Constant Freeman and his sons, Nehemiah and Ezekial Freeman. The connection between the Minots and the Freemans is unclear.
