Arthur Davison Ficke picture postcard inscribed to My dear Sarah, circa 1908.

The collection consists of a picture postcard, inscribed on the front by Ficke to My dear Sarah, inviting her for a visit, with reference to their houses; the verso is unmarked. The picture on the card is of a house surrounded by mature trees. Undated, but probably circa 1908, when Ficke began publishing monographs. The postcard was removed from Penn State's copy of Ficke's first book, The Earth Passion, 1908. He knew two Sarahs at this time, Sarah Watriss and Sarah Otis Ernst, both of whom were on the list of people at Yale to whom Ficke gave copies of this book.
