The collection contains a sheet of paper containing abbreviated notes for a screen treatment of "Flying the mail," a holograph calendar marking his paydays for six weeks in June and July 1932, and a scrawled note from a representative of Joyce & Selznick [talent agency] regretting having missed Faulkner. With the sheet of paper is a retained carbon of a letter from Dwight Taylor to Irving Hoffman recounting an embroidered version of his finding the above paper in his desk at M.G.M. studios, 1948 April 7; Hoffman's telegram acceptingTaylor's story for his column, April 14 and his follow up thank you letter to Taylor, April 16, both with asides about Norman Krasna; a clipping of the published letter in the column "Tales of Hoffman"; and an envelope with Taylor's imprinted return address and Faulkner's name typed on the recto. The collection also contains copies of pertinent sections of articles and books and a letter, 1988, establishing provenance.
