The Lillie and Hugh Roy Cullen Sculpture Garden subseries documents the final planning of the garden that was begun under director William C. Agee (1974-1982), as well as its construction. The garden opened April 5, 1986. Files include general correspondence and early project notes, grand opening events, an interview with Dr. Peter C. Marzio, legal and historical documents, news clippings, a press packet, sculpture lists and a statement of purpose.
