Letters and receipts, 19078-1908.

This collection of ten letters and seven receipts from Frank Lloyd Wright to Frederic Nicholas dates from 1907-1908. Items describe payments and problems concerning the construction of the Nicholas House in Flossmore, IL, probably a prairie-style house dating from Wright's early period. Difficulties related primarily concern basement flooding, leaking windows, and a shallow sewer, which were unattended by the contractor Frank Barron. Several requests and accounts were for payment of subcontractors. One itemized statement of accounts lists the work performed by each of the subcontractors. Each item in the collection is signed either by Frank Lloyd Wright, or Isabel Roberts or Harry F. Robinson on Wright's behalf.
