Two copies of documents written to or by Franciscan Commissioners General for the Indies: 1) petition addressed to Juan de Luzuriaga, Franciscan Commissioner General for the Indies, by Martín del Castillo, a Franciscan friar of the Mexican Provincia del Santo Evangelio, requesting information on eleven doubtful points relevant to a Provincial meeting scheduled for June, 1688, with appended citations corresponding to the queries; 2) the decision handed down by Álvarez de Toledo, Franciscan Commissioner General for the Indies, which absolves Manuel de Argüello, chronicler of the Order, from charges previously upheld by Commissioner Juan de la Cruz, and provides for the restoration of the accused to his former status in Mexico.
