This two-channel video combines images of village life in Cuzco, Peru, with textual "subtitles" recounting Chilean artist Juan Downey's childhood fantasies, fueled by foreign movies and music, about the world "overseas where the beautiful people lived and had real fun." The soundtrack mixes environmental sounds, songs, conversation fragments, and excerpted interviews in Spanish with English subtitles.
