The collection contains papers of George Peddy Cuttino from 1930-1990. The genealogical materials in Series 1 consist of materials collected by Dr. Cuttino and by his grandfather, David Smith Cuttino, Sr. (1842-1925) concerning the "Cothonneau" family in France, as French Hugenot refugees to America, and as citizens of the state of South Carolina; as well as related branches of the family. Dr. Gutting is the author of Saddle Bags and Spinning Wheel, the collected tatters of his grandparents George W. Peddy and Kate Featherston Peddy, and HISTORY OF THE CUTTINO FAMILY.
