ArchivalResource

Scrapbook compiled by Taylor family members, 1794, 1828, 1877-1920.

A copy of the 1794 Acts of the General Assembly of Virginia owned by John [M.C.?] Taylor was reused as a scrapbook by successive owners. The earliest scrapbook entry is a good conduct report given to Margaret Taylor in 1828. Most of the entries are clippings [from Lynchburg] papers pasted in by an unidentified compiler in 1877. There are also postcards, 1906-1907, sent to Mary Kasey of Christiansburg, Va., including a souvenir card of the 1906-1907 Jamestown Exposition by the Good Luck Baking Powder Company. There are also a few paper dolls and other cut-outs, 1920, pasted in by Virginia Dare Campbell.
