Photograph album of the activities of the Commercial Iron Works of Portland, Or. from 1940-1946. During World War II, the Commercial Iron Works manufactured landing craft support ships for the United State Navy. Subjects include shipbuilding, shipyards, launching ceremonies for ships, employees of the Commercial Iron Works, and founder William T. Casey and his family, among many other people. The names of various women who sponsored the building of each ship are listed. Photographers include Angelus Studio and Lewis Barber, both of Portland, Or.
