Edward Cousinard papers, 1829-1909 (bulk 1863-1875).

The Edward Cousinard Papers contain legal and business papers, correspondence, memorandum books (1862-1869) and a receipt book (1865-1866) concerning Cousinard's duties as sheriff, state tax collector, commissioner of election, and constable of the justice's court. Bills and receipts for liquors and furnishings indicate Cousinard was in business from 1869 to 1872. The papers also include tax receipts of Richard Roddy of Baton Rouge (1829-1868) and court cases, chiefly civil cases of the Fifth Judicial District Court.
