James H. Mason letters, 1861-1862.

This collection consists of three letters, 1861-1862, from James H. Mason, two to his father and one to his brother. One letter was written from a military camp near Winchester, Virginia about Mason's recent experiences and giving information on the strength of the troops; he mentions Col. Bartow and Gen. Johnson. Two letters are written from hospitals in Atlanta: one contains information on Mason's health and his hope for furlough, the other giving advice to his brother on caring for livestock.
