Sophie B. Wright papers and scrapbooks, 1893-1927 (bulk 1892-1900).

Items removed from scrapbooks consist of letters of appreciation for talks given by Wright, programs, invitations, undated newspaper clippings, and issues of "The Stepping stone" (Home Institute's school publication) and "Progress." The 1889-1896 scrapbook contains items related to the Home Institute, Free Night School, Louisiana Chautauqua, and other organizations. Clippings regarding the Free Night School and the General Federation of Women's Clubs are present in the 1896-1898 scrapbook, as are letters of acknowledgment from various prominent New Orleanians, such as actor Joseph Jefferson and New Orleans Mayor W. C. Flower. The final scrapbook, 1897-1906, contains material similar to the other two volumes as well as clippings about Wright's work as state secretary of the King's Daughters and Sons of Louisiana.
