Sylvia Rosen Baumgarten was born November 12, 1933 in Toronto, Canada, and raised near Springfield, Massachusetts. She was graduated from Brown in 1955. In the early 1980s she began writing historical romances. With the exception of Forever Wild all of her books are set in sixteenth and seventeenth century France.
