Military commissions and orders issued to Levi Butler, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, as captain and surgeon of the 3rd Minnesota Regiment, and two memorial resolutions (1878) adopted by the trustees of Macalester College and of the First Baptist Church of Minneapolis after Butler's death. Butler, a member of each board, was president of the latter at the time of his death.
