House and Senate bill registers, 1888-1979.

This series consists of bound volumes created in the Governor's Office listing the House and Senate bills sent to the governor to be signed into law. Listed in each volume are the dates and times each bill was received in the governor's office, when they were approved, and the date and time that the governor transferred them to the Secretary of State's office. The number of each bill and a short description are also included. The records begin during the administration of Thomas Seay and end with Braxton Bragg Comer in 1909. The series skips to 1955 and runs through 1979. This group covers the second administration of James E. Folsom (Sr.), John Patterson, George C. Wallace, Lurleen B. Wallace, and Albert P. Brewer. There is also a register on the prohibition referendum convention and a special election in the 8th District that occurred during the administration of Benjamin M. Miller (1931-1935).
